Our story

KIIN is a brand of two sisters.

We are Mei and Lin, born in Baigou — the bag-making capital of northern China. Where most childhoods pass among bookshops, restaurants and cafés, our streets were lined with hardware stores, drafting rooms and sample workshops. We didn't yet know what we would become, but the craft of making a bag was already second nature.

We left home at fifteen and eleven — Mei to New York University, Lin to the University of Toronto. Mei went on to lead product development and strategic investment at a listed beauty group. Then one day we returned to the place where we grew up, and made our first bag.
